Obituary for Margaret Matejicka-Kent
Margaret Matejicka-Kent, 89 years, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019 at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Emil J. Matejicka and the late David Kent. Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Los) Sirko.
Margaret was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Northampton. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for 42 years before retiring. She was a pierogi maker for many years at St. Nick’s in Northampton, a life member of the Coplay Saengerbund and was a member of several senior groups in the area.
Survivors include a daughter Donna, wife of Robert Coleman of Northampton, granddaughters Christine, Michelle, Lindsey, and Jennifer, and great grandsons Quinn and Rory. She was predeceased by a son Jerry Matejicka, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Divine Liturgy will be held at 10am on Friday January 18, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church 1343 Newport Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. There will be a viewing from 8:30-9:30am on Friday at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 Chestnut Street Coplay, Pa. 18037. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation c/o the funeral home.
