Obituaries
Marie T. Vandergrift, 90, formerly of Coplay, passed away on May 2, 2023, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Vandergrift, Sr., for 59 years before his passing in August of 2012. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kluscaritz) Yost.
Marie was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and caring great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Andrew and his wife Marybeth of Danbury, CT, Jennifer wife of Robert Nause of Allentown, David and his wife Lori of Allentown, Frank Jr., of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Lisa, Stacy, Kelly, Katey, Amanda, Lauren, and Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Camryn and Taylor, Dax and Derek, and Vivienne. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Verna Kalb (Reichl) .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9th at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. A visitation will be held from 10:00- 11:00 AM in the church. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marie’s memory to the Allentown Food bank https://allentownfoodbank.org. One thing Marie will always be remembered for were her delicious home-cooked meals, Christmas cookies, and clam bakes.
