Obituary for Mary B. Paukovits
Mary B. Paukovits, 98, of Allentown, passed away on January 12, 2021, at Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank S. Paukovits. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Vogrincsis) Bertalan.
Mary was a 1940 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic. She was employed as a seamstress at several textile mills located throughout the Lehigh Valley. Additionally, Mary was employed as a utility operator at the former Western Electric / A.T. & T. in Allentown for 27 years before her retirement. Mary was a faithful former member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Allentown and more recent member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Allentown. In addition to being a talented seamstress, Mary enjoyed bowling and taking trips to the Jersey Shore with her family.
Mary is survived by sons, James Paukovits and wife, Shirley of Coplay; Jerome Paukovits of Allentown; and daughter, Marie Peart of Bethlehem; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Frank Bertalan of Allentown. She is predeceased by brothers, Stephen, Joseph, and Frederick Bertalan; and sisters, Theresa Roma and Margaret Gotthardt.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to St Francis of Assisi Church at 1046 W Cedar St., Allentown, PA 18102. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with arrangements.
