Obituary for Mary L. Lorah
Mary L. Lorah, 92 years of Allentown formerly of Whitehall died Wednesday April 18, 2012 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the widow of the late Luther L. Lorah who died in 1997. Born in Whitehall she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Scheirer) Clarke. She had worked for the former General Ribbon Mill and the former Smith’s Candy Co. of Catasauqua prior to working as a spinner for the former Naracot of Fullerton for 20 years before retiring. Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hokendauqua Fire Co. Surviving are son Lawrence husband of Marie Lorah of Walnutport, son Kevin of Emmaus and brother William Clarke of Hokendauqua. Mary’s grandchildren are Michael and Melissa Lorah, Judith Peters, Jeffrey Jacksits, Michele Hankee, William Hamby and Larry Lorah, great grandchildren Rachel and Amanda Peters, Bradley Jacksits, Nichole and Seth Hankee, Brayden Hamby and Amanda, Linda, Samuel and Randy Lorah and niece Sandra Spagnoletti. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllis Jacksits and a granddaughter Jennifer Jacksits. Funeral services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given in her name payable to the First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua 3005 South Front Street Whitehall, Pa. 18052.
