Obituary for Michael D. Burd
Michael D. Burd, 59, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 17, 2024. Born in Flemington, New Jersey in 1964, he was the son of the late John W. Burd and Catherine A. (Pool) Burd.
He was the husband of Jeannine E. (Paraskevas) Burd with whom he shared thirty-five years of marriage.
Michael was a Paraprofessional specializing in Special Education. He ran with Rescue Squads and EMT.
He was a longtime community member of High Bridge, New Jersey (Youth) and Wilson Borough, PA. Michael was a member of Metropolitan Community Church Lehigh Valley.
He was a long-time member of Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs and German Shepherd Club. He was highly active and enthusiastic about rescue animals.
Michael enjoyed gardening and ceramics. He was highly creative and took pride in his craft. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife Jeannine E. Burd, daughter Eleni Burd, grandson Milton A. Yerger, best friend/pseudo sister, Colleen Fisher, pseudo sister Carol Callanan and fur babies Luna and Rauli.
There will be a celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 3pm at Metropolitan Community Church Lehigh Valley, 2354 Grove Rd, Allentown, PA. 18109.
