Obituary for Michael E. Kubinsky, Jr.
Michael E. Kubinsky, Jr., 74 years, of Catasauqua, died Monday April 4th, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of Kathryn E. (Hicks) Kubinsky and they celebrated 51 years of marriage this past January. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Michael E. Sr. and Rose (Stupak) Kubinsky.
Michael was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Slovak Church in Allentown. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Michael worked for over 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Allentown, retiring as a clerk and timekeeper. Prior to that he worked for the former Phoenix Clothes for 20 years before they closed. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed bowling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife Kathy are his children, sons Michael III, Joseph, and David and wife Linda; daughter Kristine and husband David Labert; sisters Rose Ann and husband Richard Stoudt, Nancy and husband James Altenbach; grandchildren Hannah, Adam, Joel, Bryn, Cameron, Nicholas, and Andrew and great granddaughter Lilianna, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward, husband of Judy Kubinsky.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12pm Monday April 11th, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Slovak Church, 924 N Front St, Allentown, PA 18102. A calling period will be held from 10-11:30am at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a charity of your choice.
