Obituary for Michael Holubowski
Michael Holubowski, 87 years of Allentown died Friday March 9, 2012 in St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was married for 50 years to Doris (Kurtz) Holubowski on December 7, 2011. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Alexander “Elko” and Rosalie (Basarab) Holubowski. He was a faithful member of the Valley View Baptist Church of Bath and helping in construction of the original building on Airport Road. Michael was a faithful worker for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. retiring as a crane operator after 43 years of service. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and a selfless person who was always ready to help others. He enjoyed playing the Pa. Lottery and drinking a good cup of coffee. Surviving with his wife is son Gary husband of Patricia Snyder of Bath, daughters Julie wife of Cole Werkheiser of Allentown, Debra wife of Christian Hunsberger of Trumbauersville, Susan wife of Scott Minnich of Allentown, Robin Holubowski of Newark, Del., grandchildren Kelly Strate, Kristina Snyder, Olivia and Hayley Werkheiser, Jacob and Grant Hunsberger, Nathan Minnich and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Michelle and ten brothers and sisters; Nicholas, Alexander, Rudolph, Joseph, John, Julia, Mary, Sophie, Jenny and Anna. Calling hours will be Tuesday March 13 from 9:30am until 11:00am followed by funeral services officiated by Pastor Volker Stoeckmann at 11:00am Valley View Baptist Church 2870 Pheasant Drive (Route 248) Northampton, Pa. 18067.
