Michael “Mick” J. Ondush, Jr., 74, of Catasauqua, died Saturday September 16, 2023, at his home in Whitehall with his family by his side. He was the husband of Brenda L. (Shankweiler) Ondush and celebrated 56 years of marriage together this past June. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Michael “Shorty” and Anna Mae (Zoch) Ondush.
After graduating from Catasauqua High School, Mick started working for PPL as a lineman at 17 years of age and retired 40 years later at 57. He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church in Catasauqua. Mick loved golfing and his days spent on the greens of Hideaway Hills Golf Course. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and caring for his garden.
Above all Mick was a family man. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving along with his wife Brenda, are his children, daughters Michelle Atkins and husband Jim, Stacey Leonard and husband Brian, son Sean Ondush and wife Alicia; brother Andrew Ondush and wife Bev, sister Diana Reppert; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister “Chich” Perdick.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 4th St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Brubaker Funeral Home of Catasauqua is honored to handle the arrangements.
