Obituary for Nancy K. Knecht

Nancy Kline Knecht, 77, of Catasauqua, died Monday, May 25, 2026, in Allentown, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was the oldest of 5 siblings born to the late June (O’Connor) and Kenneth H. Kline. She was the “leader” of the Kline kids, often in charge of her younger siblings. She was lovingly known as “Big Nance” particularly to her younger brother Kenny.

She graduated from Catasauqua High School in 1966, a member of the largest and “greatest” class from Catasauqua, where she was a cheerleader and member of newspaper and yearbook clubs. She married ex-husband, Larry Knecht on July 11,1970 after knowing each other since the age of 13. She and Larry lived in Florida, San Diego, Toronto and Bethlehem before settling back down in Catasauqua. She and Larry remained lifelong friends.

Nancy graduated from Bethlehem Business School and worked as a secretary for the Boro of North Catasauqua for thirty years before retiring in the summer of 2019. She then moved to Macungie to be closer to family. Nancy was a fun, fashionable woman who always dressed younger than her years and pulled it off beautifully! She met frequently with her two sisters and many friends with whom she traveled to places like Niagara Falls, Saratoga Springs, Cape May, and Walt Disney World. She was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia sports fan but she truly enjoyed watching all sports, particularly those played by her son and her grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her only child, Joshua Knecht, husband of Amy, of Macungie and her two grandchildren, Leo and Cameran, who are the lights of her life. She is also survived by sisters, Linda Williams, wife of Roger, of Collegeville, PA, Barbara Sneegas, wife of Stanley, of Lititz, PA, brothers Kenneth Kline, husband of Shirley of Andreas, PA and Kevin Kline, husband of Kim, of Spotsylvania, Va, 8 nephews and one niece. Lastly, she is survived by her uncle, Philip Lukish, of Huntingdon, PA.

There will be a calling period on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 09:30-11a.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua. Funeral service will follow at 11am in the parlor. Interment to follow funeral service at Greenwood Cemetery – Howertown in Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made directly to: The Sanctuary at Haafsville, 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville, PA. 18031.

Online memories and condolences for the family may be shared at www.brubakerfuneralhome.com. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is entrusted with the arrangements.
