Obituary for Nancy Krynack

Nancy Krynack, 95, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Providence Place in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.


Nancy was born in Ormrod, Pennsylvania, on December 31, 1927, to Paul Nush, Sr. and Tekla Gulla, both of whom emigrated from Ukraine.


She worked for many years as a sewing machine operator, beginning with sewing uniforms for America’s WWII soldiers. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Nancy had a tireless work ethic driven by her love for the Church and her family. Her later years were dedicated to caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton.


Nancy is survived by her daughter Deborah Ann Coles, wife of Gary L. Coles, New Ringgold; her granddaughter Attorney Gretchen Coles Sterns, wife of Joseph D. Sterns, Deer Lake; her grandson Jonathan David Coles, Alexandria, VA; and her great-grandsons Samuel and Luke Sterns.


She is also survived by her sisters Mary Nush and Catherine Macsisak and her brothers John Nush and Paul Nush. She is preceded in death by her husband, John J. Krynack; her brother Peter Nush, and her sisters Anna Lauser, Rose Radon, and Irene Mitch.



A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 8:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 9:00 a.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton. A viewing will also be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
