Obituary for Patrick J. Karner
Patrick J. Karner, 55, of Coplay, passed away on September 5, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg Campus. He was the beloved husband of Robin Eckert with whom he celebrated 25 wonderful years of companionship this past May. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Barbara A. (Bodisch) Karner and the late Ludwig Karner who passed away in 2016.
Patrick was a 1984 graduate of Whitehall High School. He was employed at Rothrock Motors for 35 years as a parts counterman. Before that, he worked at the former H. Leh & Company in Allentown.
Patrick was a sports fan who especially enjoyed rooting for the Washington Redskins and watching NASCAR. Patrick loved animals. Known to his furbabies as “Cat Daddy”, he was an avid cat lover. Patrick was a devoted companion, loving son, brother, and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife and mother, he is survived by son, Tommy Schwenk, CA; and brother, Brian L. Karner of Coplay; mother-in-law, Beverly Eckert; and sister-in-law Kelly and husband, John. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his ten adored cats. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Helen and Edward Bodisch; paternal grandparents, Ludwig and Mary Karner; and father-in-law, Russell Eckert.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA 18037. A viewing will be held from 10-11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held after the funeral service at Coplay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Patrick’s memory to Peaceable Kingdom at 1049 MacArthur Rd, Whitehall, PA 18052, United States. .
