Obituary for Patsy "Pat" J. Carfara
Patsy “Pat” J. Carfara, 89, of North Catasauqua, died with his family by his side on Friday April 22, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Helen R. (Peters) Carfara and would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on April 25th of this year. Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Louis P. and Helen M. (Stehnach) Carfara.
Pat retired as a sheet metal finisher from Mack Trucks after 35 years of service. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Pat was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed coaching for the Catasauqua Youth Baseball and Football programs which he did for many years. In addition, he also liked watching the NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, UConn Women’s Basketball and the old Western shows.
Above all he was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving along with his wife, Helen, are his sons; Lewis W. Carfara and wife Diane (Reichl), Dino Carfara and wife Terry (McGonigle), and Anthony M. Carfara and wife Colleen (Smith); grandchildren; Jason, Amy (Santoroski), Ryan, Drew, Zach and Morgan; great grandchildren Dylan and Lilah Carfara, Harper and Juliette Santoroski, and Piper, Evelyn, and Jack Carfara; sister, Mary Carfara and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Donna J. Carfara and sister Vincenteen Schaffer.
Memorial services will be held at 4pm on Sunday May 1, 2022 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, PA. 18032. There will be a calling period prior to the service from 3-4pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association at: www.diabetes.org.
