Obituary for Paul F. Yurasits
Paul F. Yurasits, 88, of Coplay, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
He was the beloved husband of JoAnn (Marth) Yurasits, of Coplay, for 63 years. They were married on August 31, 1957. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Barilovits) Yurasits. Paul was a 1950 graduate of Northampton High School and was a proud U.S. Army Corporal who honorably served his country from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict. During his working years, he worked at Mack Trucks for over 38 years before his retirement. Paul was a faithful member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Coplay, the Coplay Saengerbund, and St. Nick’s Social Club.
In addition to his wife JoAnn, he is survived by children, Tom Yurasits and wife, Janet of Northampton, Jacqueline Strohecker of Northampton, and Michael Yurasits of North Catasauqua; grandchildren, Bryan, Kevin, and Jamie; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Annie and husband Anthony Lang, Joseph Yurasits and wife Gloria, Louis Yurasits and wife Diane. He was predeceased by sisters, Mathilda, Mary, and Gisella; and brothers, Joseph and Stephen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul's memory to St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church at 4 S. 5th St., Coplay, PA 18037. Brubaker Funeral Home, Coplay, is entrusted with arrangements.
