Obituary for Pearl M. Edelman
Pearl M. Edelman, 96, formerly of Fullerton, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Cedarbrook in Allentown. She was the widow of Paul S. Edelman. Born in Lower Nazareth Twsp., she was the daughter Milton R. and Rosa (Hellick) Lahr. Music has always been an important part of Pearl’s life. Pearl began singing on the choir at Holy Trinity Church in Hecktown at age 14 and also played the violin at a young age. She joined the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Whitehall in 1939 and has been a mainstay of the alto section of the choir for 50 years. Pearl has also served as assistant organist for the church. For 35 years she has played piano for a variety of organizations such as the Fullerton Fire Company and Fullerton American Legion. Pearl served as Chaplain for the American Legion and served on St. John’s Church Council for over six years. She was involved with Meals on Wheels for 25 years and worked for the former Lichty’s Lite Lunch of Fullerton for 14 years. Pearl is survived by her son Douglas of Little Falls, NJ. eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her step sons Richard and Daniel. Services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday January 31, 2007, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 835 3rd Street, Whitehall, PA 18052. Call from 10:30-11am at the church. Interment to follow at Green Mount Cemetery in Bath. Memorial contributions may be sent to the church. Arrangements by the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home of Catasauqua.
