Obituary for Raymond Hlushak
Raymond Hlushak, 93, formerly of Hokendauqua, passed away on December 8, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine M. (Schown) Hlushak who passed away in March of 1983. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Kalite) Hlushak.

Raymond was a proud U.S. Army veteran who honorably served his country during WWII. He was a graduate of Northampton High School. Raymond spent his working years as a sales associate for Mack Trucks for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter’s Church, Coplay.

Raymond loved to walk and especially loved walking the malls in his spare time. He enjoyed playing cards and frequenting casinos. He also particularly enjoyed keeping and maintaining a nice lawn. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by daughters: Terri, wife of Duane Schwoyer of Whitehall; Marianne, wife of Scott Hausman of Asheville NC; and Susan Weston and partner, Eric Gersbach of Whitehall; and son, Matthew Hlushak. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Christina, Amanda, Allison, Christian, Hailey, Paige, Harrison, and Cahlia. In addition to his wife, Catherine, he was predeceased by his siblings Nestor, Peter, Benjamin, and Stephen.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to the Center for Vision Loss of Allentown, 845 W. Wyoming St., Allentown, Pa 18103. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., Coplay is entrusted with arrangements.
