Obituary for Raymond P. Reed
Raymond P. Reed, 84, of Catasauqua, died Tuesday May 31st, 2011 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Elsie M. (Toth) Reed of Catasauqua. Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Roy and Margaret (Rosenblatt) Reed. Ray was a long time member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Catasauqua where he served as a past deacon and councilman. He worked for over 45 years as owner and operator of his own plumbing business. Ray enjoyed being very active in the Catasauqua community. He was a past president of the Catasauqua Rotary as well as the Catasauqua Men’s Club. He also helped organize the Catasauqua Library Block Party for many years. Ray was an avid bowler competing in a variety of leagues in the area. Surviving along with his wife Elsie are his daughter Laurie McCall and her husband Jacky of Plymouth Meeting; sons David of Catasauqua, Daniel of N. Catasauqua, Timothy Reed and his companion Susan Domitrovits of Whitehall; four grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Gary L. Walbert at 2:00pm Friday June 3rd, 2011 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 1:00pm until 2:00pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua, 18032.
