Obituary for Raymond W. Deifer
Raymond W. Deifer, 87, of Whitehall, died at Fellowship Manor Tuesday April 24, 2007 in Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Virginia F (Hock) Deifer. Born in Allentown, he was son of the late Floyd and Helen (Gerhinger) Deifer. Raymond was a member of the 1937 graduating class of Catasauqua High School. He worked at Mack Trucks for 43 years before his retirement in 1982. Raymond was an Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War, serving on General Macarthur’s staff in the Philippines during WWII. He is survived by his sons: Donald and his wife Shirley of Raleigh, N.C.; Gerald and his wife Jenny of Coplay; Robert and his wife Barbara of Danielsville and Barry Deifer at home. Sisters Betty Lutte, Anna Rose Williston, Grace Deifer and Alice Heckman. Brothers Calvin and Paul Deifer. 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. Services will be held 11:00am Friday April 27th, 2007 in the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 10:00am until 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Arlington Cemetery in Whitehall.
