Obituary for Richard "Dick" R. Edwards
Richard “Dick” R. Edwards, 61 of Catasauqua, formerly of Jim Thorpe, died Friday May 14th, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Judy (Weaver) Edwards of Catasauqua. He was a son of the late Roland and Anabelle (Terry) Edwards. Dick was a member of the St. Paul’s Anglican Church of Allentown. He was the owner and operator of Dick’s Catering and Concessions for many years. Prior to that he worked as the cook for the CHI PHI fraternity at Lehigh University and also ran the Big Chief Drive-In in Lehighton. Dick was a member of the Porter Lodge #284 F & A.M., a member of the Royal Arch Chapter #287 and served as secretary for the Porter Club all in Catasauqua. He was also a member of the Rajah Shrine of Reading. For more than twenty years, he served as a volunteer fireman for the East End Fire Co. of Catasauqua. Surviving along with his wife are his daughters Lisa Williams and Mike Lambert of Catasauqua, Christa Held and her husband Christopher of North Catasauqua and Elizabeth Ritter and her husband Jason of Catasauqua; sisters Jean Potosky and her husband Jack of Macungie and Carol McFarland and her husband Ron of Jim Thorpe; and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12pm, Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Call from 11am-12pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name, payable to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Chapel of Calvary Temple, 3436 Winchester Rd, Allentown or to the Porter Lodge #284, 1103 6th Street, N. Catasauqua, PA 18032
