Obituary for Richard J. Lewis
Richard J. Lewis, 75, of Catasauqua, died Monday November 7, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Judy (Straub) Lewis of Catasauqua. Born in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rita (Grivner) Lewis.
Richard was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Annunciation B.V.M. of Catasauqua. He worked as a truck driver for FXI (Friedmans Express) for many years and eventually retired from driving while working at Ward Trucking. Richard proudly served his country from 1966-1970 in the Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War and was in country from ’67-’68. Richard enjoyed umpiring for a variety of youth baseball leagues including with the Catasauqua youth baseball organization.
Richard was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving along with his wife Judy are his daughter Keri Sandt and husband Ryan; son Kevin Lewis and wife Sarah, son Jason Lewis and wife Amy; grandchildren Rya, Lucas, Kylie, Averie, Harper and Cooper.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Toys For Tots.
