Obituary for Rita M. Smith
Rita M. Smith, 81, of Coplay, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Mary (Stelzman) Herzog.
She was the husband of Frank Marshall Smith with whom she shared 55 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016. Rita was a 1961 graduate of Slatington High School. She was a cashier at the former Laneco retiring after 26 years.
To know her was to love her. She loved cooking and spending time with her family at her home. She always took pride in her home, being welcoming and kept it immaculate! She was patriotic and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan! She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish fond memories are her daughter Loriann Smith Morelli and her husband Cosimo and her brother Peter Herzog and his wife Nancy. She was predeceased by her sister Audrey Morris.
Services will be determined at a later date.
