Obituary for Robert Bunch Huey
Robert Bunch Huey, 78, of Wescosville passed away Tuesday November 16, 2010 in his residence. He and his wife Alice Viola (Kneece) Huey celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary July 24th, 2010. Born in McColl S.C. he was the son of the late Claude McRuffin and Ethel (Bunch) Huey. Robert retired after many years as the owner and operator of Trebor Plastic Engineering of Kernersville, N.C. and Hummingbird Photo Systems of the Lehigh Valley. Previously he was the owner of the former Texapol Plastics, Inc. Of Nazareth, PA for over 30 years where he developed and patented several plastic materials. He graduated in 1956 as a chemical engineer from Clemson University and in 1950 from Cheraw High School of Cheraw, S.C. Bob was an active and long time member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Allentown, where he was a member of the Henritzy Sunday School class, the United Methodist Men and served on both the Finance Committee and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. For several years he was the coach of the Allentown YMWCA Boys Swim Team. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed sailing his boat and playing golf. Surviving with his wife Alice are his daughter Audrey, wife of Barry Frick of Allentown; son Robert Bernard, husband of Carol (Fore) Huey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandchildren Chloe Viola Frick, Abigail Dawn Frick, Adam Ray Huey Frick; brother-in-law Robert Hughes of Raleigh N.C.; niece Alice Thomas Brown, wife of Steve Brown; nephews William Harding husband of Carol and John Harding; grandnieces Corbin Thomas Shoup, Jean Campbell Thomas, Caroline Harding and grandnephew Charles Logan Harding. Bob was loved and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his sister Claudia Huey Hughes and sister-in-law Audrey Harding Burbank. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday, November 20th, 2010 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, 18104. A viewing will be held in the church from 10-11am Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to the church or the Hospice of the Lehigh Valley, 2166 S. 12th St. Suite 101, Allentown, PA 18103.
