Obituary for Robert F. Petrosky
Robert F. Petrosky, 73, of North Catasauqua, passed away on November 7, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus. Born in Hazelton, he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes (Betley) Petrosky. He was the husband of Donna M. (Holzer) Petrosky with whom he would have shared 55 years of marriage this December.
Robert was a graduate of Whitehall High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Whitehall. Robert worked for 42 years in the railroad industry, working for the Reading Railroad, Conrail, and eventually retiring from Norfolk Southern as a yardmaster. He enjoyed the Railroad Retirees breakfast meetings and playing in various golf leagues where he ultimately achieved a hole in one.
He was very handy and always ready to help his family and friends, no matter what the project. Robert loved trips to the casinos and his cookies and coffee. But above all Robert was a family man. He loved cheering on his children and grandchildren in all their various sporting events and happily followed his son's high school football coaching career from Catty to Nazareth.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna M. Petrosky; daughters Martina M. Schannauer and husband Steve, Kimberly A. Petrosky and husband Timothy Marhefka; son Robert A. Petrosky and partner Marissa Rotz; brother James Petrosky and wife Penny; sisters Lorraine Smicker and husband Larry, Mary Lou Sodl and husband Dave, Patricia DeLucas and husband Marc; grandchildren Sarah and Rachel Schannauer and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A calling period will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032 from 08:30-10:00 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 3024 S Ruch St, Whitehall, PA 18052. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the church.
