Obituary for Robert G. Deibert
Robert G. Deibert, 91 years, a lifelong resident of Catasauqua, died Monday March 13th, 2017. He was the husband of the late Helen (Kappes) Deibert and celebrated 63 years of marriage together before her passing in 2010. Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Albert S. and Rhoda M. (Briggs) Deibert.
Robert was a graduate of Catasauqua High School and East Stroudsburg University. He served in the Pacific Campaign in the Army during WWII. He was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua. Robert was a teacher for the Catasauqua Area School District for many years. He was inducted in the CHS Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a Basketball Coach and was involved in many stages of athletics in the school district.
Surviving are his daughters Colleen Kloiber and husband Rudy of Whitehall, Pat Milisits and husband Ron of Bethlehem and Denise Katchur and husband Tom of Bath; brothers William and wife Eleanor and Donald and wife Marilyn; grandchildren Erik, Erin and Kyle and great grandchildren Michael, Emily and Sophia. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Elizabeth.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 2nd & Pine Streets Catasauqua, PA 18032.
