Robert “Rob” Michael Kropf, 64, of Phoenix Arizona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Formerly of Pennsylvania and born in Allentown, he was the son of Barbara Jean Dal Pezzo and the late Robert Charles Kropf.
Rob received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Accounting from California State University Long Beach in the mid 80’s. He started his career as a CPA and Tax Accountant but eventually shifted to Program Management. His last employer was FIS Asset Finance. Over the years, he lived and worked in California, Virginia, Washington D.C, New York, Minnesota, and Arizona.
Having started college at Virginia Tech, Rob was a lifelong fan of the Hokies, optimistically cheering them on even though they almost always disappointed. He loved college sports and traveled around the country to attend football games with his brother-in-law and nephew. He was an amazing uncle who went out of his way to build relationships with his nephews, frequently traveling to Texas and Minnesota for water polo matches, baseball games, school plays, and school musicals. He was quietly competitive, easily agreeing to a game of miniature golf and never letting on how much he wanted to win until the final scores were tallied. He was insanely curious. No conversation ever ended without needing to resort to Google. He enjoyed hanging out with his dog Cooper and working out with his personal trainer. Above all, he loved spending quality time with his friends and family and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rob is survived by his mother Barbara Jean, sisters Karen M. Barber and husband Joe, Kelly Lyn Mitchell and husband Dean; nephews Austin, Tyler and Luke Barber; Eric and Ryan Mitchell, step mother Bethany Kropf. He was predeceased by his father Robert and sister Kathryn.
