Obituary for Roberta G. Goist
Roberta G. "Bobbie" Goist 85 years of Allentown died Sunday July 17, 2005 in her residence. She was the wife of Rev. Wilbur E. Goist and would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in October 2005. Born in New Philadelphia, OH she was the daughter of the late Herman and Ethel (McIntire) Graff. Mrs. Goist was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church Allentown where she was a member of W.S.C.S, the Dorcas-Martha Circle, the Pep Club and the prayer chain. She was also a member of Louds Island Church, Round Pond, Maine and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. Mrs. Goist was a participant of the Wellness Center of Bethlehem. Mrs. Goist was a special education Teacher in Ohio and for the Carbon-Lehigh County Unit until her retirement in 1989 A graduate of Balwin Wallace University of Ohio where she had been president of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She has a Masters Degree in Special Education from the Miami University of Ohio Surviving with her husband are: Daughters- Mary-Jo and David L. Kolde of Coopersburg, Peggy and Dennis D. Waskul of Willmar, MN, Jeanne and Martin B. McLean of Allentown, and Wendy and Dr. Jeffry M. Jones of Brooklyn, WI 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren Predeceased by son Mark Wesley Goist in 1995. Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Asbury United Methodist Church located at 1533 Springhouse Rd., Allentown, 18104. There will be a calling period at the church from 1:30-3:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellness Center of Lehigh Valley, Asbury United Methodist Church, or Louds Island Church care of the funeral home. Arrangements by the John H.
