Obituary for Ronald Charles Deutsch

Ronald C. Deutsch, 81, of Whitehall, died at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Rita M. (Strongowski) Deutsch and celebrated 60 years of marriage this past April. Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Anna (Halushak) Deutsch.


Ronald was a lifelong and active member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay where he served as an usher. A graduate of Central Catholic High School in Allentown, he went on to work in maintenance for Cross Country Clothes until they closed. He then worked and eventually retired from Lutron. Ronald was a member of the American Club of Coplay, and the Koplay Keystone Kops. He was always willing to help his family, friends and community.


Above all, he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.


Surviving along with his wife Rita, are his daughters Deborah A. Yohn and husband James D., Sharon A. Kromer, Lisa A. Yandrasitz and husband Scott F., Lori A. Wielgus and husband James B., son Brian K. Deutsch and wife Stephanie L.; sister Mary Suppan and husband Thomas; brothers Gerald M. Deutsch and companion Ethel Lavenburg, and Patrick Deutsch; grandchildren Sean, Jacqlyn, Kyle, Zachary, Joshua, Matthew, Eric, Haley, Jeremy, Kayla, Brandon, Andrew, Michael, Amanda; great grandchildren Henry, Elena, Harley, Hensley. He is preceded in death by his brother Dennis J. Deutsch.


A calling period will be held at 9:30am-10:30am Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at St. Peter’s Church, 4 S. 5th Street, Coplay, PA. with a mass of Christian burial to follow in the church at 10:30 a.m. 


Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
