Obituary for Ruth L. Coval
Ruth L. Coval, 92, passed away on November 22, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born on March 6, 1929, in Palmerton, PA. she was the daughter to the late Clarence Schenkenberger and Daisy (Barber) Schenkenberger.
She was the loving wife of the late Daniel Coval for whom she was married to for 61 years prior to his passing in 2018.
She was a graduate of Parkland High School in 1946 and Kutztown University in 1950. She taught in Parkland school district.
Later in life, she earned a master’s degree from Kutztown University. She was then employed by the Whitehall school district as a reading specialist.
Ruth was also active in Girl Scouting serving as a troop leader in Neffs for many years and later as a consultant. She was an active member of St. John’s Church in Northampton.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who found pleasure in nature and all the beautiful things she had to offer.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her sons; Daniel and partner, Dot of Collegeville; Mark and wife Monique of Philadelphia; grandchildren; Kristen, Katelyn, and Jacqueline.
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel, stepmother, Elda Schenkenberger, a brother, Glen, and sister Blanche.
There will be a calling period on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 Chestnut Street Coplay, PA. 18037 from 08:30 a.m. – 09:30 am. with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church 1343 Newport Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Northampton, PA. 18067.
