Obituary for Samuel F Kratzer
Samuel F. Kratzer, Sr., 87, of West Catasauqua died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. He was the husband of Myrtle E. (Bartholomew) Kratzer of Whitehall. Born in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Sadie M. (Seyfried) Kratzer. He had worked as a core maker at the Bridesburg Foundry, Fullertown for many years before retiring. He was a life member of the West Catasauqua Fire Company, the VFW in Egypt post # 7293 and the former Darktown Fire Company. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 215 in Catasauqua. Sam was a US Army veteran and is a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient for combat injuries received in France in September 1944 during the Western Europe Campaign. Surviving with his wife are; Sons – Samuel F. Kratzer, Jr. at home, and Richard, husband of Beverly Kratzer of North Catasauqua. Daughter – Linda, wife of Henry Duda of Anaheim, CA. Four grandchildren and six great grandchildren Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 25, 2006 in the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua. Call 10:00 am until 11:00 am Tuesday in the funeral home.
