Obituary for Sara Ann Mazza
Sara Ann (Whitby) Mazza, passed away on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at her home at Westminster Village in Allentown. Sara joins the Whitby Family in the afterlife. The former wife of John Mazza of Allentown, she was born in Fullerton and was the daughter of James and Minnie (Dotterer) Whitby. Sara retired from the VOA Day Care Center and Good Shepherd Thrift Stores of Allentown. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society of Westminster Village where she participated in many group activities. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed by family and friends. Sara enjoyed the recent honor of meeting President Bill Clinton in the auditorium at Muhlenberg College in 2008 during Hilary’s campaign tour. She is survived by: daughters RoseMarie (Mazza) Bauer, Marlene Rehrig and her husband Edward Sr., Sherrie (Mazza) Bosket; five grandchildren: Lori Williams and her husband Paulie, Edward Rehrig, Jr. and his wife Sandy, Erin Bauer, Ricky and Justin Bosket; 3 great grandchildren: Tanesia, Frankie and Edward III; many nieces and nephews. Sara was one of their 11 children and the last to survive her brothers and sisters: James, Charles, Phillip, John, William, Isiah, Robert, Isabel, Minnie and Gwennie who preceded her in death. Services will be held at 10am Thursday September 9th, 2010 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery on Lehigh Avenue, Whitehall Call from 9-10am in the funeral home. A family gathering will follow the graveside services at Sara’s daughters residence in Bethlehem.
