Obituary for Stan Robbins
Stan Robbins, 70, of Hanover Township, died Tuesday April 12th, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Linda (Owens) Robbins. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Fred and Anna Mae (Koch) Robbins. Stan was a member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church of Catasauqua. He served in the Army National Guard. Stan was employed by 1st National Bank of Allentown, attaining the position of Senior Vice President and retiring from First Union in 1998. He then worked part-time for AD Computer retiring, again in 2010. Recently he volunteered his time for AARP as an income tax preparer. He was a member of the Mercantile Club of Emmaus. Stan served on the Board of Directors of Lehigh University’s Wrestling Club for many years. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Lehigh Valley Athletic Club and served as the assistant treasurer and as a member of the Golf Tournament Committee . Stan was an avid wrestling fan, attending all of Lehigh University’s home, and away meets last season. The wrestling team and community were his family. Stan was a member of Porter Lodge, F & AM Catasauqua Royal Arch Chapter 278 and Scottish Rite Consistory of Allentown. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, cooking, good friends and good wine. Surviving along with his wife are a cousin Robert and his wife , Maxcine Robbins of Florida. Services will be officiated by Rev. John Hart at 11am Wednesday April 20th, 2011 at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 4th & Pine Sts., Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 6:30-8:30pm Tuesday April 19th at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. and 10-11am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Stan Robbins Memorial Fund, c/o Lehigh Valley Athletic Club, P.O. Box 90207, Allentown, PA 18109.
