Stephen J. Burker, 74, died unexpectedly Saturday October 19, 2024, at his home in Coplay. He was the husband of Flossie “Carol” J. (Fritchman) Burker and celebrated 34 years of marriage this year. Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Stephen F. and Hilda (Nickischer) Burker.
Stephen worked for many years for A & B Meats in Allentown. He went on to work in customer service with PPL until his retirement.
Stephen loved his town of Coplay and could often be seen wearing his “Coplay Proud” shirts. He served on the Coplay Borough Council for 9 years and was the Mayor of Coplay for 3 years. Stephen was instrumental in organizing many borough events including Coplay Community Days.
Surviving along with his wife Carol are his children, daughter Tinamarie Martin and husband Ricky, stepdaughter Ramona Pinkowsky, stepson John Bowen, stepdaughter Angela Young, brother David Burker and wife JoAnn, brother Bryan Burker, sister Therese Royer and husband David, grandchildren Stephen Burker and Alicia Steigerwalt, great grandson Kayson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Stephen M. Burker.
A calling period will be held from 11am-1pm Friday October 25, 2024, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037. Memorial service to begin at 1pm Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to handle the arrangements.
