Obituary for Teresa T. Deutsch
Teresa T. Deutsch, 94, of Coplay, died Friday, October 23, 2015 in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Teresa (Litchauer) Knopf. She attended Our Lady of Hungary School and Northampton High School. When her mother died at a young age, Teresa accepted family responsibilities for raising her siblings. She married Charles J. Deutsch after he returned from serving in WWII. They celebrated 64 years of marriage on May 12, 2015. Teresa dedicated her life to her family, being active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Throughout 46 years, she was a seamstress at the D&D Mfg. Co. and Clyde Shirt Co. A lifetime parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church, she sang on the funeral choir. A devoutly religious woman, she faithfully attended Sunday mass. For decades after mass, she diligently walked through each pew and neatly arranged the hymnals and missals. She valued family traditions and was always thrilled to host ice cream and cake birthdays for Jared and Aaron. A talented cook and baker, Gram's dobos torte, kiffles, and pagachi were absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. As a dear wife, mother, and grammy, her enduring love prevails in treasured moments. Survivors: Husband, Charles J.; sons, Jeffry P. and wife, Karen; Dr. Jerome C.; grandsons, Jared P. and Aaron B., all of Coplay. She was predeceased by a sister, Stephanie, and brothers, John and Stephen. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 27, St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay.
