Obituary for The Reverend Karl A. Bauer
Father Karl Bauer was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. He graduated from Fordham University, and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. On May 27, 1967, He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of New York. He served as associate pastor of St. Aloysius Church, Livingston Manor, St. Mary’s Church, Wappingers Falls, NY., St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Shrub Oak, NY. He was appointed Pastor of St. Frances of Rome Church, the Bronx, NY, and retired after more than 12 years as pastor of St. Anthony Church, Nepera Park, Yonkers, NY. He served for three years as an Advocate of the Archdiocese of New York Marriage Tribunal with residence in St. Stanislaus Church, Pleasant Valley, NY. After retirement, Father Bauer relocated to San Diego County and served as Senior Priest at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Oceanside, CA.
He is pre-deceased by his grandparents, his parents, George & Emma Bauer, and by Rose, George, Charles, Edward and Anne Keppel. He is survived by Michael & Sharon Kaszyski.
Services will be at St. Anthony Church, Yonkers, NY on February 17, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
