Obituary for Udean S. Davis
Udean S. Amend Davis 83 years of Elizabethtown, Pa. formerly of Allentown died Tuesday February 8, 2011 in the Masonic Home of Elizabethtown. She was the widow of the late John B. “Jack” Davis formerly of Wyoming, Pa. Born in the Allentown Hospital, Allentown she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Helen R. (Kindred) Amend. Udean graduated from Allentown High School in 1945 and received her RN degree in 1948 from Nesbitt School of Nursing in Kingston, Pa. She had worked as an RN at Allentown Osteopathic Hospital, employed in the offices of Dr. C. E. Wilson and Dr. Salvatore Assorgi of Allentown and spent the last years of her nursing career at the Phoebe Homes of Allentown from where she retired in 1991. She was a past worthy matron of the Mary Livingston Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Udean was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown and then became a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, PA when she moved to the Masonic Villages. She is survived by her son, Rev. John B. (Skip) Davis, II; Daughter-in-law, Janice Wells Davis; grandson, Jared B Davis, his wife Cris Madaffari Davis; granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessie Davis; her great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Davis and brother in law Ralph Davis. Memorial services officiated by the Rev. John B. Davis II and the Rev. Mark Moore will be 11:00am Saturday February 12 in Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, Pa. Call 10:30 am until 11:00am in the Asbury United Methodist Church parlor. A second memorial service officiated by Rev. John B. Davis II will be 2:00pm Sunday February 13, 2011 in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church 398 N. Locust Street Elizabethtown, Pa. In lieu of flowers send donations to: Nurses’ Health Study, Channing Laboratory, 181 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115 ( or to the Masonic Villages Elizabethtown, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.The Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements.
