Obituary for Veronica A. "Vera" Galm
Veronica A. "Vera" Galm 86 of N. Catasauqua died Monday October 19, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown. Born in Northampton, she was the youngest child of Matis and Veronica (Tkac) Shedlock. Her husband John A. Galm Jr. died in 2002. She was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church of North Catasauqua, but always felt at home at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was a talented seamstress and a volunteer at the Sacred Heart Hospital Gift shop for over 30 years, 10 years of which she was the chairman. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her first biological great grandson was born in June of this year. Veronica led an exemplary life, was loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed by all including sons John “Jack” A. Galm III husband of Deborah Galm of Bethlehem, Jerome husband of Sue Galm of Palmerton, daughters Mary wife of Donald Elliott of Hellertown, Veronica of N. Catasauqua, Teresa wife of Larry Dalrymple New Tripoli, daughter in law Di Anne wife of Dan Russoli of N. Catasauqua, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Joseph Galm, brother John Shedlock, sisters Mary Gavura and Anna Sarnicky. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday October 23 in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church 1229 Third Street N. Catasauqua. Call 6:30pm until 8:00pm Thursday and 10:00am until 10:30am Friday in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. Memorial contributions may be given in her name payable to the Catasauqua Food Bank c/o the funeral home.
