Obituary for Vilma Rivera
Vilma Rivera, 71 of Allentown, passed away peacefully after battling cancer on September 5, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Jose L. Rivera. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo Prieto and Aida (Vasquez) Prieto.
She was a member of Life Church in Nazareth. She was a homemaker who took pride in her family.
She was very generous and strong willed and fought her illness with strength and dignity. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jose L. Rivera, her children; Janet Ortiz, Jose Rivera, Rosa Rivera, James Rivera, Sr., Tina Rivera, and Brian Mulrooney; sister, Aida Santos, and grandchildren; Henry, Richie, DaQuan, Jacinda, Killian, James Jr., Destiny, Naiomi, Andrew and Nyaleigh and great grandchild, Lexias. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Ortiz.
A homegoing service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vilma Rivera, de 71 años de Allentown, falleció en paz después de luchar contra el cáncer el 5 de septiembre de 2022. Era la amada esposa de José L. Rivera. Nacida en la ciudad de Nueva York, era hija del difunto Leonardo Prieto y Aida (Vasquez) Prieto.
Era miembro de Life Church en Nazaret. Era una ama de casa que se enorgullecÃa de su familia.
Era muy generosa y de voluntad fuerte y luchó su enfermedad con fuerza y dignidad. Todos los que la conocieron y la amaron la extrañarán profundamente.
Será recordada con cariño por su esposo, José L. Rivera, sus hijos; Janet Ortiz, José Rivera, Rosa Rivera, James Rivera, Sr., Tina Rivera y Brian Mulrooney; hermana, Aida Santos, y nietos; Henry, Richie, DaQuan, Jacinda, Killian, James Jr., Destiny, Naiomi, Andrew y Nyaleigh y su bisnieto, Lexias. Su hija, Nancy Ortiz, falleció antes que ella.
Un servicio de regreso a casa se llevará a cabo a las 12:00 p.m. el lunes 12 de septiembre de 2022 en Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032. Se realizará un velorio de 11:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m. en la funeraria.
