Obituary for Walter "Butch" R. Smith, Jr.
Walter “Butch” R. Smith, Jr., 69 years, of Catasauqua died peacefully in his home on Thursday May 4th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Patricia (Hodge) Smith of Catasauqua. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Walter R. Sr. and Grace H. (Geiger) Smith.

Walter worked for 30 years in the blast furnaces, and later as a maintenance electrician, for Bethlehem Steel. Most recently he worked as a delivery driver for Rahn’s Concrete. Walter was a strong and loving individual to his family, friends and all he touched. He was a born leader that resonated honor, respect and integrity and demanded those same qualities from his family and friends. Walter was a hardcore Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast all of his adult life and lived the colorful lifestyle of that subculture.

Surviving along with his wife Patricia are his children - son Vincent P. Smith, daughter Vicki C. (Smith) Bartholomew and husband Mike, daughter Ashley R. Breinig, son Dylan P. Smith, sister Carol Mortimer and husband Joshua, grandchildren Rikki, Karissa, Kore and Aaron.

A Celebration of Time will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Gas House Dance Hall (former Blocker's Hardware), 311 Front St. Catasauqua, PA, 18032.
