Obituary for Walter R. Schlener
Walter R. Schlener, 78, passed away in his North Catasauqua home on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Walter A. and Dorothy (Dieter) Schlener. He was married to Jeanne (Brosky) Schlener for 54 years.
He was a 1954 graduate of Whitehall High School, retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation as well as the Pro Shop of the Willowbrook Golf Course, Catasauqua. Walter was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the Catasauqua American Legion post 215.
Surviving with his wife are three children Walter, Theresa and Nichole, five grandchildren Megan, Jessica, Jenna, Rachel, and Kyle, and one great grandchild Oliver and brother William. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made to the Catasauqua High School Scholarship Fund for the Walter Schlener Memorial Foundation, Catasauqua High School, attention: Eric Snyder, 2500 W. Bullshead Rd., Northampton, PA 18067. The Brubaker Funeral home, Inc of Catasauqua is in charge of the arrangements.
