Obituaries
He was the husband of Margaret “Margie” (Check) Schirmacher with whom he would be married 54 years this September. Born in Hokendaqua, he was the son of the late Francis Schirmacher and Florence (Lorah) Schirmacher.
William served in the U.S. Army and was a Military Police Officer at West Point. He later worked as a laborer for Prior Coated Metals for 35 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved the great outdoors and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving along with his wife are his son; William F. Schirmacher; his daughter, Veronica Gathagan and husband Nick; sister, Nancy Krasulak, and husband Andrew; grandchildren, Barbra Schirmacher and Liam Edward Gathagan; and sister-in-law Betty Schirmacher. He was preceded in death by 5 siblings.
There will be a calling period at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 Chestnut Street on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. We ask that those in attendance adhere to social distancing protocols and wear facial covering.
