Obituary for William M. Wolfer, Jr.

William M. Wolfer, Jr., 65, died after battling cancer, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday December 27, 2024, at his home in Coplay. He was the husband of Rochelle A. (Souders) and celebrated 41 years of marriage this past April. 


Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William M. Sr. and Helen (Stangl) Wolfer. William graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School. He worked as a steel forger for Phoenix Forge in Catasauqua for over 40 years before retiring. William was an avid golfer and loved the Dallas Cowboys.  Above all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by many.


Surviving along with his wife, Rochelle, are his son Christopher M. Wolfer, daughter Jennifer L. Wolfer and husband Chris Schantz, grandchildren Austin, Aidan, and Hailey, brother Mark Wolfer, sisters Cindy Sharp and husband William and Carolyn Wolfer, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Greg Hoffman. 


His viewing will be held from 9:30am-10:30am Monday January 6, 2025, at St. Peter’s Church, 4 S. 5th St. Coplay, PA 18037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Monday at the church.
