Obituary for William P. "Bill" Woodring
William “Bill” P. Woodring, 80, of Catasauqua, died Thursday February 11, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy (Bachman) Woodring of Catasauqua. Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Paul A. and Dorothy E. (Boxmeyer) Woodring. Bill worked as a community data specialist for PPL before retiring. He served in the Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post # 215 and a life member of the Fullerton Fire Co. #1 of Whitehall. Bill served as a member and former president of Catasauqua Borough Council. He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Northampton. Survivors: daughter, Constance Bugbee and her husband James of Moore Twp., daughter Tammy Metzger and her husband Scott of Northampton, son Todd Woodring and his wife Tania of Schnecksville; grandchildren Eric Bugbee and his wife Jill, Michael Bugbee, Nicholas Metzger, and Mikayla-Anne Woodring; great-grandson Collin Bugbee. He was predeceased by a son David. Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at St. John’s U.C.C. of Northampton, 22 Atlas Road, Northampton, PA 18067 . Call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am-10:00 am prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the church, or Sacred Heart Hospice, 2268 S. 12th Street, 4th Floor, Allentown, PA 18103. The Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is in charge of the arrangements.
