Obituary for William "Willy" F. Brown
William F. “Willy” Brown, 56, of Catasauqua, passed away on January 20th, 2021 in Philadelphia, PA. Both of his children were by his side. Born in Allentown, he was the loving son of the late Joseph Brown and Nancy “Strack” Brown.
After graduating from Catasauqua High School in 1982, he attended Penn State University and obtained a B.S. in Biology. Willy was CEO/Owner of Brown Drywall for over 30 years.
Willy loved his punk rock music! He was a drummer for several Lehigh Valley punk rock bands, most notably The Slamhounds. He also enjoyed walking the canal path along the Lehigh River.
A friend to all, he will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by: daughter, Tyra Brown, and son, Cole Brown, both of Catasauqua; sisters Wendy, Wife of Jeff Zemba of Allentown; Flaxine Grube of Catasauqua; Nita Brown of Northampton; mother of his children Melissa Brown of Catasauqua; sister-in-law Nicole Gerhard of N. Catasauqua; many nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved dog Jake.
Willy was predeceased by his brother Joseph and niece Rebecca Brown.
Due to current restrictions, a private burial will be held for the immediate family. However, all family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, January 30th from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Gas House Dance Hall, 311 Front Street, Catasauqua PA. Please note due to COVID-19 guidelines, all guests must adhere to social distancing and face masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be payable to the Lehigh County Humane Society.
