Obituary for Willis C. Strein
Willis C. Strein, 78 years, of Whitehall, passed away on Wednesday December 12, 2012. He was the loving husband of Martha (Burd) Strein for 58 years. Formerly of Scranton, PA., he was predeceased by brother, Ted and parents, Willard & Irene. Willis was a 1951 graduate of Liberty High School; Mansfield State College in 1955 and earned his Master's Degree from Lehigh University, 1963. He taught at Catasauqua School District for 38 years. "Pops" started and was involved with the Track & Field program at Catty in 1963 until retiring in 1993. Willis was inducted into Catasauqua's Hall of Fame in 2008. He was employed with VAST from 1994 to 2004. Will attended church at Bethany Bible Fellowship Church of Whitehall. Surviving along with his wife Martha are children Sandi, wife of Jeff Peters, Houston, TX; David & wife Beth of Coral Springs, FL; Robin, wife of Duane Orton, Cary, NC; Nancy, wife of Joe Germani, Birdsboro, PA and Diane, wife of Tim Peters of Bethlehem. Devoted Pop-Pop of Joey, Dana, Nicole, Michael, Tony, Justin, Laura, Jonathan, Matthew, Andrew, Lizzie and Adam. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at Bethany Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 7th Street, Whitehall, PA 18052. His viewing will be from 7:00pm-8:30pm Tuesday December 18th at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, 18032 and a calling period from 10:00am until 11:00am Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to restore the Alumni Track to an All-Weather track. Donations may be sent to the funeral home and please make checks payable to the Alumni Track Fund.
