Obituary for Joseph "Tiger" Sinkovits
Joseph “Tiger” Sinkovits, 93, of Coplay, passed away on November 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in the home that he and his father built. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Schatz) Sinkovits for 68 years. Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Gabriel) Sinkovits.

Joseph was a 1946 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and went on to honorably serve his country while stationed in Munich during the Korean Conflict. Joseph belonged to the 43rd Division of the 102nd Infantry, Headquarters Company. After passing his Master Sergeant test, he left early to marry his beloved Theresa on February 14, 1953. Joseph worked hard to provide for his family and spent over 35 years employed at the former Western Electric as a computer programmer before his retirement in 1993. A man of strong faith, Joseph was a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay.

Joseph was a devoted Notre Dame football fan and enjoyed spending his time watching the games on T.V. He was a man of character who always wore a smile. Due to his caring personality and infectious smile, anyone who met Joseph would never forget him! Many people believe that saints only reside in Heaven, but Joseph was a living saint here on Earth, especially to his wife and family. In true Joseph fashion, we all must always move onward and upward while never looking back.

In addition to his beloved wife, Theresa, he is survived by children, Donna Sinkovits of Coplay; and Joe Sinkovits and wife, Liane of Whitehall; grandchildren, Aaron and Lynn Sinkovits; and great-grandchild, Madelyn Conti. He is also survived by sister, Mary Molchany of Coplay; and brother, Robert Sinkovits and wife, Ann of Whitehall.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joseph’s memory to St. Peter’s R.C.C. at 4 S. 5th St., Coplay, PA 18037. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., Coplay, is entrusted with arrangements.
