Obituary for Cathy M. Dugan
Cathy M. Dugan, 72, of North Whitehall, PA. passed away peacefully on December 27, 2021 at her home with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Crozier) Ihm and the late John Ihm. She was the loving wife of Lawrence Dugan with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage this past May. Cathy graduated from Parkland High School in 1967 and earned an Associate’s Degree from LCCC in 1969. After taking time off to start a family, Cathy returned to school and earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science from Moravian College in 1981. After a 30 year career working for the City of Allentown, Cathy retired in 2015 as a Senior Systems Analyst.
While Cathy excelled at and took pleasure from her work life, her true passion was for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and Canada but the best memories were made during her many trips to Disney World and Ocean City, Maryland with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was a lifelong exerciser and enjoyed walks at Trexler Park. She was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Cathy will be lovingly remembered for her optimism, kindness, and big smile. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Dugan; her mother, Dorothy (Crozier) Ihm; her sons, Matthew Dugan and wife Melissa of North Whitehall; Damien Dugan and wife Tracy of South Whitehall; grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, and Caitlin Dugan; brothers, John Ihm and wife Frances; Mark Ihm and wife Patricia; sister Linda Joseph and husband Harvey and many adoring nieces and nephews.
