Obituary for Donald R. "Ducky" Lafaw
Donald R. “Ducky” Lafaw, 84, of Catasauqua died Saturday June 11, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Laudenslager) Lafaw, celebrating 63 years of marriage this past May. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Howard C. and Mamie (Reinert) Lafaw.
Ducky was a long-time member of the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Catasauqua and was most recently attending Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church of Catasauqua. He worked for over 40 years as a meat cutter for various businesses around the Lehigh Valley including ACME, Food Fair, Pantry Pride and Burke Provisions. Ducky was active for many years as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 94 where he assisted over 40 scouts in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He was known for his elaborate outdoor Christmas decoration displays and was proud when he was included in the annual Morning Call Christmas Display Tour. He loved preparing his home for all holidays.
Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving along with his wife Patricia, are his sons Donald A. Lafaw and wife Sheri and Ronald Lafaw and wife Jill; granddaughters Laura Lafaw and husband Jonathan Schmauch, Katie Lafaw and Megan Lafaw; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence and sisters Virginia and Geraldine.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 4th Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church.
The family requests that all in attendance kindly wear a face mask.
Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the church. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements.
