Obituary for Michael A. Demko
Michael A. Demko, 61 years, of Stiles, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 2nd, 2018, after enduring a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer, with dignity and courage. He was the husband of Kathryn (Ivankovits) Demko, with whom he celebrated 32 years of marriage. He was the son of Andrew and Anna (Berner) Demko.
A graduate of Penn State, he was employed at Nestle Purina Pet Care for 37 years.
Michael was a fan of Penn State Football, the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. He lived to see the Eagles win the Superbowl. He was an avid reader, a quiet man, and a gentle giant.
Survivors include his wife, beloved children Zachary of Seattle, WA and Rachel of Bethlehem, sister and brother in law Diane and David Fritts, brother in law and wife Michael and Machelle Ivankovits, nephew Gregory Fritts and his wife Dana, niece Jaime, wife of Bryan McLeod, great nieces Annalise, Caelyn, and Adeline, uncle Jack Demko, aunts Pat Berner, Connie Berner, Florence Berner, and Joanne Berner and many cousins and good friends.
A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Friday June 15th, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Cemetery Whitehall, PA 18052. There will be a calling period from 11:30am-12pm at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers or contributions Mike would have preferred you spend time with someone or something you love. Brubaker Funeral Home, formerly Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home of Coplay is handling arrangements.
