Obituary for Francis "Frank" C. Dickman
Francis “Frank” C. Dickman, 89 years of Coplay, formerly of Summit Hill died Thursday morning, February 21, 2019. He was the husband of Anna R. (Stanko) Dickman. Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late Russell Dickman and the late Veronica (Karnish) Dickman.

Frank was a Korean War veteran who served in the Army Intelligence Language School Division. Upon returning from the war, he worked at Bethlehem Steel in the beam yard, then became Postmaster of the Coplay Post Office and later, the Catasauqua Post Office until his retirement.

Frank was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Coplay. Throughout his life, Frank proudly served his community. Along with his wife Anna, he was co-founder of Coplay Crime Watch, He served as Director of Coplay Rec and Welfare, served on the Coplay Planning Commission, on the Coplay Library Board, and as an Officer at Coplay Sports. He was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund, the Coplay Centennial Committee, American Legion Post 426 in Coplay, Commitment to Family and Community, and served on Coplay Borough Council. Frank was also an English language instructor at the Polish-American Club and during his Post Office years, he served as NAPUS Secretary. He was proud of the town he lived in for most of his life, and with his love of Coplay second only to his wife Anna, he created a pictorial and text CD on the history of Coplay.

Surviving along with his wife Anna is their daughter Maryrose (Scott) Farquhar of Palmerton, their son Frank K. (companion Deb) of New Tripoli, and four grandchildren Gina, Jade, Logan and Aiden. He was preceded in death by his infant son Russell A and 2 siblings, Jane Beshock and John Dickman.
