Obituary for Nelson J. Tassie Jr.
Nelson J. Tassie Jr. 64 years formerly of Catasauqua died Sunday January 11, 2009 in Goldsboro, N.C. He was the husband of the late Maxine J. (Horldt) Tassie who died April 1992. Born in Catasauqua he was the son of the late Nelson J. and Helen (Chabak) Tassi. Nelson had worked as an Iron Worker in the Lehigh Valley for many years before retiring. He was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church of N.Catasauqua. Nelson served his country as US Army veteran of the Vietnam era. Surviving are daughters Traci Scanlan of Florida, Cynthia wife of Thomas Hoskot of N.C., son Nelson J. Tassie III husband of Julia of Northampton, sisters Rose Marie Bear, Marguerite wife of Paul Heffner, Elaine wife of Fred Bartholomew, Annette wife of Bill Williams, Kathy wife of Donald Helffrich, Susie wife of James Apostolica, brothers Thomas husband of Monica Tassi and Vincent J. Tassie. Grandchildren Todd, Brittney, Marc, Scott, Alyssa, Chelsea and Maxine and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Rita Bretz. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday January 19, 2009 in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. Call from 9:30 until 11:00am in the funeral home.
