Obituary for Kathryn E Oswald
Kathryn "Betty" (Weston) Oswald 78 years, died peacefully Sunday morning October 30, 2011 surrounded by family in her home in Whitehall, Pa. She was the wife of Frederick C. Oswald for 44 years. Born in September. 23, 1933 in Coaldale, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Effie V. Weston of Tamaqua, Pa. She worked for many years at the former Atlas Power Company, Reynolds, Pa., as well as for the Whitehall-Coplay School District and for several restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. An avid Penn State Football fan, she and her husband were season ticket holders and attended every Penn State home football game for 41 years, and together they followed Penn State's Nittany Lions across the country to several away games and Bowl Games over the years. She loved dogs, and enjoyed dancing, league bowling, playing bingo, and visiting local and out of state casinos. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Evangelical Church, Whitehall; Penn State University's President's Club; and, she was a lifetime member of the Coplay Saengerbund, Coplay American Club and the West Coplay Maennerchor. Surviving with her husband Frederick are sons George P. Yanoshik Jr. of Middletown, Pa. and David M. Yanoshik of Bethlehem Township, sister Shirley Henne of Tamaqua and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters fern Gibas, Gladys Wade and Doris Christman. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 in the Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032. Call 11:00am until 12:00 noon Friday in the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Park, 3843 Lehigh Street, Whitehall, Pa.
